Patient Service Representative Supervisor

Responsibilities:
* Supervise and mentor junior staff members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide excellent patient care
* Schedule department personnel to ensure proper staffing levels and efficient workflow
* Conduct audits to ensure quality assurance in registration duties, charge entry, and checkout processes
* Communicate effectively with patients, employees, peers, management, and medical staff to promote successful working relationships
* Greet and register incoming patients professionally, handle incoming and outgoing communications concisely and in a pleasant manner
* Conduct reports and reconciliations as assigned
* Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously, route calls as appropriate, and take/forward complete messages in a timely manner
* Schedule patient appointments for all physicians and confirm appointments as needed
* Obtain complete and accurate demographic and insurance information for each patient and enter information correctly into appropriate systems
* Collect on patient accounts and/or copayments as indicated, maintain accurate accounting of the petty cash fund on a daily basis
* Respond to patient inquiries regarding basic insurance or billing questions or provide a referral to an appropriate staff member
* Restock and maintain assigned work station and equipment in a neat and orderly fashion
Requirements:
* High school diploma or GED
* Prefer one year work experience in a medical office setting, including management of personnel
* Knowledge of medical terminology, word processing, and computer experience desirable
