Thorlabs, a leading manufacturer of photonics components and instruments, is seeking an experienced Purchaser Planner II to join our team in Londonderry, NH. This part-time position involves assisting with planning, forecasting, and inventory management.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an ERP system environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, is also required.

In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing inventory and non-inventory items, reducing costs, and improving processes. You will work closely with the production planner to ensure smooth inventory management and collaborate with vendors to resolve quality issues.

The salary for this position is estimated at $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. If you are a motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing: Daily purchasing, expediting, date and data management
  • Supporting Production Planner: Inventory planning, safety stock, forecast, build/order size
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Supplier agreements, visits, quality audits, and supplier issues resolution
  • Purchasing Improvement and Cost Reduction Programs: Initiating and participating in programs to improve purchasing processes and reduce costs
  • Special and Periodic Reports: Generating reports as required or directed

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, or equivalent work experience
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: ERP Systems (Microsoft Dynamics a plus), proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
