Position Overview

Buildertrend is expanding its construction SaaS platform on a global scale. Our software supports thousands of contractors worldwide, with new users joining daily. We are in search of a Senior Software Architect to elevate our engineering team to new heights.

The architect will possess a comprehensive understanding of our department's vision, crafting patterns and methodologies for the development team. Effective communication of this vision and fostering team alignment will be crucial in this role.

The ideal candidate will have a robust technical foundation and a proven track record in leading substantial projects. This is not a brand-new initiative, but rather a distinctive opportunity to influence how the Buildertrend platform will serve its clientele for years ahead.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with various teams to identify functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications Create high-level product specifications that can seamlessly integrate into the existing system Define all facets of development, including suitable technology, workflow, and coding standards Clearly communicate all concepts and guidelines to the development team Monitor development progress to ensure alignment with the initial design Provide technical mentorship and guidance to developers and engineers Ensure software adheres to all requirements for maintainability, security, scalability, and extensibility

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in architecting software systems within a collaborative environment A technical mindset with a keen eye for detail Proficiency in software development and coding across multiple languages Comprehensive knowledge of the software lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment Strong organizational and leadership capabilities Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members
