We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Technical Manager to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for mentoring and directing junior staff, managing technical aspects of projects, and communicating technical progress to project managers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentorship and Staff Development
    • Mentor junior staff in technical skills and knowledge
    • Direct and guide junior staff in project execution
  • Project Management
    • Manage technical aspects of projects, including analysis and design
    • Communicate technical progress and issues to project managers
  • Quality Control and Documentation
    • Ensure quality control and documentation of projects
    • Follow internal procedures for project tracking and management
  • Technical Expertise
    • Develop and maintain technical expertise in structural engineering and transportation projects
    • Advise and guide project teams on technical matters

Requirements

  • Education
    • Master of Science in Civil Engineering (Structural)
  • Experience
    • 6+ years of structural engineering experience with a focus on transportation projects
    • Licensed SE in IL
    • Advanced knowledge/proficient in software required for discipline
    • Advanced knowledge/proficient in applicable codes/standards that govern discipline
    • Experience mentoring and managing junior staff
    • Experience with MicroStation
    • IDOT, ISTHA, and CDOT experience preferred
    • Experience with 3D bridge modeling preferred
    • Construction Engineering Services experience preferred
  • Skills
    • Strong technical expertise in structural engineering and transportation projects
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills
    • Ability to mentor and develop junior staff
