Senior Bridge Engineer Job Description

Ardmore Roderick is a leading civil engineering firm providing infrastructure design, construction services, and program management to various agencies. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Bridge Engineer to join our growing Structural Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and mentor junior engineers in bridge design and construction projects.
  • Perform structural calculations, drawings, and reviews, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Prepare RFPs, submittals, and Go/No Go potential pursuits for bridge design projects.
  • Serve as a technical expert on structural matters, providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Perform and/or coordinate the review of shop drawing submittals, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Lead project meetings, both internally and with clients, to ensure effective communication and project progress.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget of bridge design projects, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
Requirements:
  • BSCE degree with structural emphasis, MSCE preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in bridge design, with a strong background in structural engineering.
  • Structural Engineer (SE) License is strongly preferred, and Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
  • Familiarity with IDOT, Tollway, and Local Agencies, with experience in rail projects a plus.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software, with working knowledge of Microstation and Autocad.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience leading tasks and design teams.
