Job Title: Controls Engineer

At Hose Master, we are seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and troubleshooting custom equipment used in the manufacturing of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with operators and leads to diagnose problems and implement improvements.
  • Verify safe operating conditions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Design and build electrical controls and drive systems to meet specific requirements.
  • Quote jobs and provide accurate estimates for projects.
  • Layout control panels and junction boxes to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  • Wire electrical controls and systems to meet specific requirements.
  • Program PLCs, PCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other control systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Research and purchase replacement components to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Train operators and leads on new equipment releases to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Take on and complete assigned work to meet project deadlines.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma with a minimum of 10 years of experience; or Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience.
  • Familiarization with PLC programming and CAD software.
  • Basic tools and ability to use them effectively.
  • Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
  • Electrical design and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good basic math skills.
  • Ability to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required.
  • Ability to use computer and software as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, twist, and kneel.
