Job Summary:The successful candidate will lead end-to-end Cell Line Development for pipeline projects, including activities from vector design and construction to clonal cell lines appropriate for Master Cell Bank generation. They will also design, implement, and apply high-throughput automation technologies for mammalian cell line generation and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead Cell Line Development for pipeline projects, including vector design, construction, and evaluation.
- Design and implement high-throughput automation technologies for mammalian cell line generation and process optimization.
- Drive process improvements for increased speed and efficiency to generate highly productive, high-quality, robust cell lines that meet all regulatory requirements.
- Support cell banking, cell bank characterization, and tech transfer operations.
- Coordinate with Research and CMC colleagues for efficient knowledge transfer.
- Participate in Due Diligence and Manufacturability assessments.
- Author technical reports, Regulatory filing support, and present in group meetings.
- Develop and motivate a team of direct and indirect reports.
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related fields with 8+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in cell line development, including experience with vector design, construction, and evaluation, mammalian gene expression systems, and automation technologies.
- Experience with Regulatory filing and controlling product quality by cell engineering and/or cell line selection.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and adhere to timelines.
Gilead Sciences, Inc. offers a competitive salary range of $221,170.00 - $286,220.00, discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package, including company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
Eligible employees may participate in benefit plans, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
