Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Detroit Medical Center. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing laboratory tests and analyzing results.

Job Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests, including blood counts, urinalyses, and other specialized tests. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reporting results to healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory tests, including blood counts, urinalyses, and other specialized tests
  • Maintain accurate records and report results to healthcare professionals
  • Assist in the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
  • 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
