Position Overview:
The Engineering and Maintenance Manager is tasked with the comprehensive oversight, administration, and execution of all essential building utility systems, infrastructure, interior spaces, and the repair and maintenance of non-medical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily implementation and management of the Utility Systems Management Plan, Fire Safety Management Plan, and the computerized maintenance management system, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Administer the computerized maintenance management system to guarantee timely action on requests and completion of corrective measures.
- Ensure adherence to all preventative maintenance protocols and develop maintenance programs for new equipment based on manufacturer guidelines or an Alternative Equipment Maintenance (AEM) strategy.
- Engage in both operational and capital budgeting processes, managing assigned budgets effectively.
- Collaborate with organizational leaders to support daily operations, projects, and events.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent with a master-level license or certification in a building trade, or an Associate degree in engineering, applied science, facilities management, or a related field.
- Minimum Work Experience: 5 years of relevant engineering experience in areas such as facility management, operations and maintenance, clinical engineering, safety and security, planning, design, construction, or environmental management, with preference for experience in a healthcare environment.
- 5 years of management, supervisory, or administrative experience.
Certifications:
- Certification in Healthcare Facilities Management (CHFM) is preferred. Master-level licensure or certification in a building trade is desirable.
- Valid Vermont Driver's license.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated expertise in hospital equipment and primary and secondary mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; construction, installation, operation, and repair.
- Proficient understanding of maintenance and repair management systems.
- Knowledge of building operation design and construction standards.
- Solid project management experience is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with computer applications related to work order systems, microprocessor control systems, and software for ordering, scheduling, and spreadsheets.
- Strong human resource and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining effective communication and customer focus amidst frequent interruptions.
Salary Range:
$73,500 - $117,500
