Position Overview:
As an Automotive Accounting Manager at Sonic Automotive, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial integrity of our dealership operations.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Accounting Manager, your primary duties will include:
  • Assisting the Controller in preparing comprehensive financial statements and ensuring timely submission each month.
  • Interpreting and analyzing financial statements on an ongoing basis.
  • Supervising office personnel, including receptionists and cashiers.
  • Keeping the Controller informed about business trends and cash flow requirements.
  • Reviewing journal entries and approving adjustments to inventory, cost of sales, and expense accounts.
  • Preparing and processing all workers' compensation and insurance claims.
  • Coordinating and preparing month-end reconciliations for all accounts and physical inventories.
  • Maintaining and posting standard monthly entries.
  • Establishing fixed asset and prepaid asset accounts.
  • Collaborating with office staff to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Assisting in preparations for annual internal and external audits, providing auditors with necessary information and following up on corrections.
  • Completing end-of-month accounting reports.
  • Calculating and reconciling monthly depreciation expenses.
  • Setting up and maintaining accruals for various expenses, including advertising, insurance, and professional fees.
  • Running and reviewing monthly expense trend reports.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Automotive Accounting Management.
  • Knowledge of vehicle registration and title processes.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • A clean motor vehicle and criminal background record.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and openness to change.
  • A strong professional attitude and work ethic.
  • The capability to follow established directions and processes.
  • A willingness to engage in continuous learning.
