Job Overview

The individual in this role will be accountable for executing assigned welding tasks, ensuring the production of high-quality components, adhering to company timelines, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

The standard working hours for this position are Monday to Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including a 30-minute lunch break each day. Overtime may be required on Fridays and occasionally on Saturdays, typically involving shorter workdays.

Compensation: $24.10 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate welding machinery, including wire welders, to work with various steel thicknesses and types.
  • Utilize a range of tools and equipment such as L-tech welders, overhead hoists, grinders, buffers, and shot/sand blasters.
  • Interpret blueprints and perform welding in accordance with specified guidelines.
  • Fabricate components based on order specifications.
  • Ensure proper clamping of welded assemblies to prevent distortion.
  • Employ various tools, including handheld plasma torches, cutting torches, and stud & spot welders.
  • Maintain and service welding equipment and tools.
  • Accurately complete paperwork related to assignments.
  • Adhere to objectives outlined in the Safety Policy.

Qualifications:

Knowledge: Basic computer skills and a foundational understanding of welding techniques are preferred.

Skills: Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, quality-focused, proficiency in operating hand tools, reading a tape measure, strong interpersonal skills, basic literacy and numeracy, effective time management, and capability to operate and maintain light machinery, hoists, and lifting devices.

Abilities: Comprehensive understanding of welding fabrication for major assemblies and proper clamping techniques. Capacity to accept and follow work priorities and methods. Strong work ethic and self-motivation with minimal supervision. Flexibility in handling various work assignments. Ability to contribute positively in a team setting.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
