Space Systems Security Expert

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Space Systems Security Subject Matter Expert to support our NASA Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) customer.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for advancing the integration and excellence of all aspects of IV&V Mission Protection Services (MPS) for the IV&V program, ensuring the effectiveness of defense-in-depth architecture against known and potential vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Threat modeling, vulnerability identification, and assessment to protect endpoints, systems, applications, and networks from potential security breaches and attacks.
- Collaboration with the MPS Integration Lead to oversee the execution of IV&V services across the IV&V Program.
- Ensuring IV&V MPS services, methods, work instructions, and resulting analyses/products remain current and state-of-the-art.
- Developing and institutionalizing new MPS capabilities and methods as necessary.
- Maintaining consistency and quality of MPS services across applications within the IV&V Program.
Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain.
- Bachelor's degree and 20 years of experience or more in related fields; Master's degree and 18 years or more experience; PhD or JD and 15 years or more experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with Cybersecurity processes and procedures, including vulnerability identification, threat and risk assessment, threat modeling, and familiarity with common threat methods and TTPs.
- Experience with Space Domain, including spacecraft concept of operations, space flight and ground systems and software architectures, knowledge of space systems avionics, and space data standards knowledge.
- Excellent communication, verbal, written, and presentation skills, as well as computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and soft skills such as professionalism, strong work ethic, creativity, curiosity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and ability to work in a team environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to provide high-level summaries of results and draw conclusions based on interpretation of data.
- Software development, maintenance, and deployment processes and secure coding practices.
- System/Software design for mission systems.
- Knowledge of Hazards/Causes/Controls, Safety Engineering Analysis, Fault Management/FMEA/FTA analysis results.
- Data protection compliance standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.
- Experience with ethical hacking or penetration testing.
