Job Summary:The Director of Nursing will be responsible for overseeing the provision of high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and leading a team of nursing professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate and direct the total planning for nursing services, including staffing, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the completion of written orientation and annual evaluations of all nursing staff.
- Establish procedures to ensure that nursing personnel have valid and current licenses as required by federal and state regulations.
- Participate in the coordination of resident care services through departmental staff meetings and quarterly assurance meetings.
- Coordinate required and supplemental in-service education programs for nursing staff.
- Oversee the care plan development for residents and ensure timely submission of MDS data.
- Serve as a resource for Facility staff to increase knowledge of competence in job skills for the benefit of staff and residents.
- Possess a valid and current nursing license (RN) for the State of Michigan.
- Minimum of three years as a Director of Nursing required in a long-term care/skilled nursing setting.
- At least two years' experience in geriatric nursing and/or B.S. Degree in nursing.
- Participation in professional organizations, dealing primarily in geriatrics preferred.
- NADONA certification a plus.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Eligible for benefits as of the 31st day of employment if Full Time.
