Job Title: Nurse Manager RN

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager RN to join our team at Burcham Hills, an upscale senior living retirement community in East Lansing, MI.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the long-term care nursing unit, ensuring that nursing staff provides high-quality care to residents in accordance with regulatory compliance and Burcham Hills policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and modify nursing care plans to achieve measurable goals and objectives.
  • Maintain updated resident assessments and care plans, and make recommendations to the Director and others as needed.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory of medications, supplies, and equipment to ensure adequate supply and proper dispensation.
  • Conduct routine and correction audits as directed by the Director of Nursing.
  • Oversee wound care on assigned residents in conjunction with the Burcham Hills Skin and Wound Program.
  • Manage investigations in PCC/Risk Management incident/accident reports, and ensure root-cause analysis and care plan revisions as indicated.
  • Assist in facility reportable investigations as directed.
Requirements:
  • Possess a valid and current Registered Nurse-RN nursing license from the State of Michigan.
  • One (1) year clinical experience as a nurse in an acute care, long-term care community with experience in geriatric/rehabilitation, a good understanding of restorative nursing, wound care, and wound assessments.
  • At least one (1) year of management or supervisory experience in healthcare or a long-term care facility with skilled and support staff is preferred.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts and extended or flexible hours as necessary.
  • Participates in on-call rotation for nights and weekends nurse leadership facility coverage.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate understanding, patience, tact, respect, and courtesy in dealing with residents, family, and visitors.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
