Position Overview: The Recreation Therapist is responsible for delivering direct therapeutic interventions through a variety of group and individual activities during various shifts, including evenings and weekends. This role involves planning, executing, and adjusting the activities program to meet the needs of patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient treatment requirements and collaborate with the Treatment Team to document outcomes and adjust goals accordingly.
  • Manage the activity program, including oversight of budget, supplies, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy or a related discipline.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification or BART at the time of hire, with a commitment to obtain BART certification within six months of employment.
  • Preferred: At least one year of recent experience as a Recreation Therapist within a large, complex healthcare environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, credibility, commitment to excellence, innovative thinking, sound judgment, and accountability.

Special Conditions:

  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical examination.

Compensation:

Annual Full Pay Range: $68,610 - $90,340 (subject to prorating based on appointment percentage).

Hourly Equivalent: $43.27

Compensation factors include experience, skills, knowledge, education, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. The pay scale mentioned is the anticipated salary range for this position, which may vary based on internal equity and budget considerations.
