Position Overview

Role Summary: The Winery at Bull Run is seeking an enthusiastic Event Management Intern to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of event planning and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in various aspects of event management, including:

  • Assisting the Event Coordinator with the logistics of events, from setup to breakdown.
  • Monitoring event spaces to ensure a seamless experience for clients and guests.
  • Engaging positively with clients and their attendees to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Participating in post-event evaluations with the Event Manager to provide constructive feedback.
  • Coordinating with vendors to ensure all event details are executed flawlessly.
  • Shadowing the Event Manager during final venue walkthroughs with clients and catering teams.
  • Gaining proficiency in creating Banquet Event Orders and utilizing 3D event layout software.
  • Understanding the complete process of private event bookings, from initial inquiries to contract confirmations.
  • Gaining experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Observing venue tours conducted by the Event Sales Representative.
  • Communicating directly with clients regarding group reservations.
  • Updating marketing materials for private events to enhance client engagement.
  • Contributing to the development of marketing content and promotional strategies for social media initiatives.
  • Collaborating with various departments within the winery.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned.

Compensation:

This is an unpaid internship that may qualify for college credit, providing valuable industry experience.

Internship Hours:

Interns are expected to fulfill their required hours based on academic needs, with a flexible schedule accommodating both office and event days.

Weekly Schedule:

Event coordination primarily occurs on weekends, while office hours will be divided among the Event Sales, Event Coordination, and Marketing Departments, tailored to the intern's availability and academic commitments.
