Business Development Manager

Job Summary:

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our Digital Modernization Sector team. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and managing a qualified pipeline, and working closely with our Solution Architects and Business Development and Capture teams to develop technical solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline linked to our business strategies and goals.
  • Identify, shape, and support the development of new business opportunities through customer engagement, customer value, and competitive analysis.
  • Work closely with our Solution Architects and Business Development and Capture teams to develop technical solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Travel as needed for customer engagements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 12+ years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience in identifying and qualifying business development programs with emphasis on opportunity qualification and shaping.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with senior executive leadership.
  • Ability to gain internal support, operate independently, and establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, division managers, and peers across Leidos.
  • Self-starter with ability to manage time independently without direct supervision.
  • Possess business and technical vision, analytical presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with online tools used by the Federal Government for solicitations.
  • Proven record of success developing opportunities within the Navy and Marine Corps markets.
  • Demonstrated skills in all areas of business development, including opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits, customer relationship development, and team leadership.
  • Experience in the development of and successful negotiation of teaming agreements.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to be cleared up to the Top Secret level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with federal government budget, investments, and acquisition processes.
  • Business development/capture management familiarity within the Military industry base.
  • Ability to operate at the senior level and influence, negotiate, and close.
  • Expertise and knowledge of DoD, Navy, and Marine Corps modernization initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer.
Pay Range:

$122,200.00 - $220,900.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
