Position Overview:

This role is designated as the Financial Literacy Program Specialist for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County. The incumbent will implement a variety of Financial Literacy initiatives aimed at enhancing the financial knowledge of individuals and families associated with the Soldier and Family Readiness Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation: Deliver established Financial Literacy programs, including but not limited to topics such as Credit Management, Home and Vehicle Purchasing, Budgeting Strategies, and Retirement Planning.
  • Individual Support: Provide personalized financial education and assist participants in creating tailored budgets to meet their specific needs.
  • Content Development: Generate educational materials for newsletters and digital platforms to promote financial literacy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Fort Drum community and various stakeholders to enhance program outreach and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial education or related roles.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of personal finance management and investment strategies.
  • Experience working with community organizations and financial resources.
  • Ability to engage diverse audiences through effective communication.

Work Environment:
