Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our finance team at a leading automotive dealership. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of our dealership and ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
    • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
    • Monitor and report on financial performance, including key metrics such as gross profit, expenses, and net income.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights to management.
  • General Ledger Maintenance:
    • Manage and maintain the general ledger, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
    • Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, floor plan, inventory, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
    • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes, recommending updates to policies and procedures as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with successful month-end closing processes.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an automotive dealership or similar industry.
  • Proficiency in dealership management software (e.g., Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK Global) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and automotive accounting principles.
