Position Summary:

As a Safety and Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough investigations of security incidents, performing regular patrols, and responding to various service requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform initial investigations and follow-up on security incidents, documenting findings in a comprehensive report.
  • Conduct proactive foot and vehicle patrols across the entire facility, ensuring safety on all floors and within all buildings.
  • Respond promptly to radio calls for a variety of services, including escorts, property retrieval, and managing disturbances.
  • Stay updated on all mandatory training requirements, including CPI and PPCT, and receive annual flu vaccinations.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and manage recorded footage as necessary.
  • Utilize the C-cure program for access control, including granting clearances and securing doors.
  • Exhibit professionalism and integrity in all interactions with team members, visitors, and patients, adhering to the department's dress code.
  • Demonstrate the ability to de-escalate situations and maintain control during security incidents.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • BLS certification required upon hire; PPCT and CPI training must be completed within six months.
  • Valid driver's license, along with computer proficiency and strong writing skills.

Preferred:

  • High School diploma with some college education preferred.
  • Previous experience in security, military, or law enforcement.
  • First Aid certification.
