Job Summary

The Providence VA Healthcare System is seeking two part-time permanent appointment Physicians (Infectious Diseases) to work 20 hours a week/40 hours per pay period. These positions are located at both Providence, RI Healthcare System (Inpatient and Outpatient patient care).

Responsibilities

  • Work with a staff which includes 2 Infection Disease (ID) Prevention nurses, 1 Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist, 1 Outpatient ID Nurse, 1 ID Nurse Practitioner and 2 ID attendings.
  • Work with ID fellows 4-6 months a year.
  • Antimicrobial Stewardship interest preferred.
  • Weekend call coverage: 12 weekends a year.

Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited Fellowship in Infectious Disease.
  • Board certification, or board eligibility in Infectious Disease.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
