Job Title: Per Diem Pharmacist

Penn State Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Per Diem Pharmacist to join our team in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Job Summary:

The Per Diem Pharmacist will be responsible for providing safe, rational, and cost-effective drug therapy for patients within the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. This includes ensuring the accuracy of drug dispensing, evaluating physician orders, monitoring drug therapy, communicating with healthcare providers, and participating in adherence to Medical Center drug use policy.

Responsibilities:
  • Assure safe and effective drug therapy for patients
  • Evaluate physician orders and monitor drug therapy
  • Communicate with healthcare providers regarding pharmacotherapy issues
  • Participate in adherence to Medical Center drug use policy
  • Provide pharmacotherapy education and information to healthcare providers
Requirements:
  • B.S. or Pharm.D. degree in pharmacy required
  • Current Pennsylvania licensure or eligibility required
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently
  • Able to lift 0-10 lbs. constantly; 11-35 lbs. occasionally
  • Able to carry 0-10 lbs. frequently; 11-35 lbs. occasionally
  • Able to push 0-10 lbs. constantly; 11-20 lbs. frequently; 21-35 lbs. occasionally
  • Able to pull 0-20 lbs. frequently; 21-35 lbs. occasionally
  • Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly
  • Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping
