Strategic Human Resources Director

Luna Community College is seeking a Strategic Human Resources Director to lead its comprehensive human resources program and manage the activities of the institution's Human Resources Office. This position directs staff training/development, planning, organizing, developing, implementing and directing HR operations, including the transition of existing processes and procedures to Workday's Human Capital Management (HCM) platform.
The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of human resources processes, procedures, and documentation, as well as expertise in federal, state personnel laws, regulations, and public sector employment policies and procedures. They will be responsible for reviewing and revising HR procedures and operations, representing the Human Resources department in Institutional meetings, developing and maintaining affirmative action programs, establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community. The successful candidate will also have experience in Workday or another Enterprise Resource Platform and hold SHRM certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the comprehensive human resources program and manage the activities of the institution's Human Resources Office
- Develop and implement new strategies and procedures to improve HR operations
- Represent the Human Resources department in Institutional meetings and represent LCC in Collaborative for Higher Education Shared Services (CHESS) and Workday meetings
- Develop and maintain affirmative action programs and oversee the integrity of records, reports, and logs to conform to EEOC regulations
- Serve as liaison with institute management and staff to discuss and resolve various human resources issues
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or a combination of education, certification, and experience
- Seven to ten years in the Human Resources field, including at least two years of supervisory experience
- SHRM certification required or must be completed within the first year of employment
- Experience in Workday or another Enterprise Resource Platform
