Job Description

Trans Ova Genetics, a member of the URUS Group, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Cattle Production Assistant. This position will provide opportunities to work closely with our professional services team, assisting with cattle procedures, data entry, and organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the professional services team with chute side procedures, ensuring the highest level of animal care and handling.
  • Learn to effectively enter data and maintain accurate records of procedures in the TOG Ova Drive System, utilizing computer skills and attention to detail.
  • Provide reproductive management expertise to clients, helping them improve reproductive performance in their herds.
  • Provide low-stress handling of recipient and donor animals through working facilities, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide timely and excellent client service to haul-in clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Organize and maintain inventories needed for in-clinic and on-farm procedures, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Summarize and present data to TOG team members and staff on CL competency project, showcasing analytical and communication skills.
  • Gain an understanding of the TOG OPU procedure and relay the benefits of this procedure to TOG customers and prospects, demonstrating a strong understanding of reproductive technologies.
  • Be willing to work with TOG full-time staff as well as independently communicating with customers, showcasing adaptability and strong communication skills.
  • Maintain a professional image reflective of Trans Ova's position in the industry, adhering to company standards and expectations.
Qualifications:
  • Strong cattle background with experience working with Bos Indicus and Bos Taurus cattle.
  • Working towards a degree in Animal Science or Reproduction or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Experience handling cattle, some with aggressive natures (Bucking Stock, Brahman, Brangus).
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to communicate effectively and get along with people of all backgrounds.
  • Willingness to learn and develop both personally and professionally.
  • Computer skills are required, and ability to work with a windows-based system.
