Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee assigned receivables through designated work queues, aging reports, and special initiatives to meet departmental objectives by resolving outstanding account balances and minimizing uncompensated care.
- Address urgent receivable requirements, intricate accounts, and projects as directed by management.
- Establish and uphold financial references, including reimbursement guidelines, state and federal regulations, and payer-specific reimbursement policies.
- Collaborate with third-party insurers to maximize cash recovery and reduce outstanding receivables.
- Ensure accurate processing of pending insurance claims by interpreting payer responses, requesting adjustments at the account level, submitting appeals, and evaluating patient financial responsibilities.
- Identify and address breakdowns in processes affecting the revenue cycle to ensure effective account resolution.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in general collections or accounts receivable management.
