Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Support Professional to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Medical Support Professional, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians and providers with patient care, rooming patients, and performing various administrative and environmental tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient care responsibilities as assigned, including identifying themselves to patients and families and explaining the roles of each member of the care delivery team.
  • Performs administrative responsibilities as assigned, including sending and receiving patient medical records and abstracting new patient records into EPIC.
  • Performs environmental responsibilities as assigned, including setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
  • Performs other related organizational duties as assigned, including maintaining patient autonomy, confidentiality, and dignity.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with graduation from an accredited medical assistant certificate program preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year private practice medical assistant experience preferred in a primary care or specialist office.
  • Medical Assisting Certification preferred, with excellent organizational, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills required.
