Job Title: Mechanical Testing Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Testing Engineer to join our team at Penn State University's Applied Research Laboratory (ARL). As a key member of our Drivetrain Technology Center, you will be responsible for conducting technical assignments and contributing to program objectives under the direction of the Principal Investigator.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fatigue performance and gear tests
  • Acquire and analyze data
  • Maintain and repair equipment
  • Analyze failures and contribute to reports
  • Characterize materials and contribute to proposals
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science discipline
  • Experience with gear fatigue test machines and metallurgical failure analyses
  • Proficiency in engineering analysis using Matlab, LabView, and/or similar codes
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Initiate or contribute data analysis for use in technical reports
  • Mentor and train lower-level employees and students
  • Supervise engineering support assistants and students

We offer a competitive salary range of $76,000 to $164,000, depending on the successful candidate's education level and experience. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.
