Principal Flight Safety System Engineer

The Principal Flight Safety System Engineer position is a critical role within the Energetics and Propulsion Department, responsible for the design and development of propulsion technology to support the Land Warfare and Air Defense mission area.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, review, update, and approve system verification artifacts and system requirements
- Design electrical circuits and identify issues, propose solutions, and ensure appropriate action is taken to mitigate issues
- Work independently as a self-starter and effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Collaborate with the hiring manager to set a hybrid schedule
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of experience in technical engineering, leading teams in the aerospace or government sector, or an Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date, with U.S. citizenship required
- Advanced degree
- 10+ years of directly related experience in mechanical and electrical design
- Specific experience developing electrical sub-systems used in flight termination, such as electronic arm fire devices, flight termination receivers, flight termination controllers, tracking systems, etc.
- Experience developing and qualifying flight systems for harsh environments
- Working knowledge of RCC319
- Experience developing destruct termination devices
- Experience in business development and technology road mapping
- Demonstrated success as a team leader
