Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Services Representative Lead to join our team at EvergreenHealth. As a key member of our patient services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate Patient Scheduling: Create and manage patient schedules, including initial and follow-up appointments, rescheduling, and cancellations.
  2. Request and Validate Interpreter Services: Arrange for interpreter services to meet patient needs and ensure accurate communication.
  3. Verify Insurance Coverage: Set up and verify active and contracted insurance coverage in multiple systems and educate patients on co-insurances and co-pays.
  4. Market Patient Portal Benefits: Promote the benefits of our patient portal and assist patients with enrollment.
  5. Manage Multi-Line Telephone System: Handle incoming and outgoing calls, responding to patient inquiries and resolving issues.
  6. Identify and Direct Emergent/Urgent Symptoms: Follow guidelines to identify and direct patients with emergent or urgent symptoms to clinical staff for screening.
  7. Manage Work Queues: Respond to pending requests and take prompt action to resolve issues.
  8. Prepare and Send Communications: Prepare and send letters, portal messages, or phone calls to communicate important information to patients.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required for the position.
  • Two Years of Experience: In a hospital, medical office, or healthcare insurance setting.
  • Prior Experience in Training and Education: Required for the position.
  • Prior Lead or Leadership Experience: Including training, projects, and staff management.
  • Knowledge of Clinical/Medical Office Procedures: Required for the position.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills: Including the ability to communicate with diverse individuals and dispositions.
  • Ability to Problem Solve and Stay Calm Under Pressure: Required for the position.
  • Strong Written Communication Skills: Including the ability to spell accurately and write legibly.
  • Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team: Required for the position.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous Experience in a Medical Reception or Similar Administrative Role: Or experience providing direct clinical patient care.
  • Knowledge of Basic Medical Terminology/Common Medications: Desired for the position.
  • Knowledge and Experience Accessing/Verifying Insurance Coverage: Including Real Time Eligibility (RTE) and Payer/Insurance Portals.
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Experience: Preferably Cerner or Epic.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and Other Health Industry Compliance Standards: Desired for the position.
