Oliver Inc. is in search of a 2nd Shift Supervisor tasked with managing all manufacturing personnel during the second shift within the facility. This position requires a hands-on approach to assist team members in achieving the objectives set forth by the Plant Director. The 2nd Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety of all individuals within the facility during the second shift and for upholding compliance with Oliver's policies and procedures.


Reporting Structure:

The 2nd Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Plant Director and collaborates with other departmental managers as necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

In this role as a 2nd Shift Supervisor, you will:

  • Oversee all personnel on the production floor during the second shift and provide guidance to other employees.
  • Manage manufacturing operations, assess employee performance, address personnel issues, and ensure accountability.
  • Maintain product quality while monitoring all operations with an emphasis on productivity, throughput, and ongoing improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to established ISO standards, enforce safety protocols, foster a culture of safety, and create a secure working environment.
  • Administer the employee performance evaluation process, manage schedules, and oversee paid time off requests.
  • Encourage a collaborative atmosphere while ensuring efficient operations and compliance with company policies/procedures and OSHA regulations.
  • Assume overall responsibility for the facility during the second shift, including managing plant emergencies.

Candidate Profile:

You are an ideal candidate for the 2nd Shift Supervisor position if your background includes:

  • A solid understanding of manufacturing processes with mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience or equivalent; a bachelor's degree is advantageous.
  • Expertise in understanding workflows and implementing continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity.
  • Ability to interpret and comprehend documents such as business correspondence, safety regulations, operating/maintenance instructions, and production manuals, as well as to compose simple letters or communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, with the capability to learn an ERP system.
  • Exceptional coaching and communication skills, with the ability to engage employees and foster a strong team environment.
