Position Overview:

As a Data Security Analyst within the Information Security Services, your primary role will be to enhance the security posture of the organization by protecting the online interactions of students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strengthening the institution's information security framework through innovative solutions.
  • Developing and executing processes and technologies aimed at improving operational security efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Delivering security services consistently within defined timelines.
  • Providing specialized technical security consulting and support across various departments, working closely with IT Services.

  • Advising leadership on security architecture, including the adoption of new technologies and risk management strategies.

Qualifications Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree coupled with three years of relevant professional experience, or a total of seven years of combined education and experience.
  • Proficient understanding of information security technologies and practices.
  • Experience in incident response and security analysis.
  • Ability to evaluate business needs and design systems that align with those requirements.
  • Familiarity with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability management tools.
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing security logs.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing operational security procedures and training materials.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
  • Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
  • Knowledge of digital forensics tools and processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Understanding of both Windows and Linux environments.
