Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local taxes in the US for a multi-billion dollar national retail business.
- Collaborate with the US Tax Function to provide information and tax expertise on the interpretation of tax law, new legislation, and planned changes to identify risk and manage tax liability.
- Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provisions (ASC 740/FAS 109) and ensure timely and accurate quarterly income tax estimated returns and payments.
- Support the company's compliance with property taxes, gross receipt taxes, business licenses, and other miscellaneous taxes.
- Assist in state and local direct tax audits and controversies, including strategy development, documentation preparation, and settlement negotiation.
- Maintain and monitor compliance with the US tax control framework.
- Support tax projects with outside service providers, including transfer pricing studies, intercompany relationships, reorganizations, and restructurings, tax credits, and incentives.
- Partner with cross-functional groups to understand the tax impact of business operations and ensure tax needs are identified, considered, and communicated.
- 3+ years of experience in US direct tax.
- CPA certification.
- Strong knowledge of tax principles, tax audit, ASC 740, state and local tax, and multi-state tax.
