Job Title: Field Systems Engineer

Join bioMerieux Inc., a world leader in in vitro diagnostics, as a Field Systems Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support to our clients across the Los Angeles, CA territory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to customer requests for service and support, ensuring timely resolution of issues and maintenance of high customer satisfaction levels.
  • Execute installations, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, field actions, moves, upgrades, and equipment removals as needed to meet customer and business objectives.
  • Diagnose and repair instrument issues to the board or subassembly level, ensuring all instruments operate per manufacturer specifications.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, promoting the value and benefits of service agreements and other bioMerieux service offerings.
  • Communicate potential sales opportunities to Sales and Marketing counterparts.
  • Operate with a sense of teamwork and collaboration, building relationships with local field service partners and cross-functional partners.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required with 2+ years of relevant experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of biomedical, mechanical, electrical, or similar systems.
  • Military experience or associate degree or higher in engineering or related discipline experience preferred.
  • Biomedical training or an associate degree in an engineering discipline a plus.
  • Fundamental knowledge of the principles and practices of laboratory operations preferred.
  • Prior experience in Field Service is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, electrical, and vacuum systems.
  • Overnight travel is frequent and required to meet customer needs.
  • Experience in host/remote communications and network systems preferred.
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence.
  • Ability to operate in an organized manner in an autonomous work environment without direct daily supervision.
