Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a Strategic Communications Analyst to provide support to the Office of the Deputy Critical Technology Officer for Critical Technologies (DCTO-CT), within the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). This role involves close collaboration with senior leadership and personnel within the Pentagon and the broader Department of Defense (DoD) Science and Technology community, including various components, industry stakeholders, academic institutions, international allies, and professional associations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with leadership to formulate a comprehensive strategic communications plan tailored for the organization.
  • Facilitate engagement and interaction with the defense Science and Technology community.
  • Coordinate with leadership to organize, host, and represent the office at technical conferences and symposiums.
  • Assist in meetings with industry representatives at senior leadership levels.
  • Act as the editor for the creation, production, and upkeep of the organization's internal and external communication materials.
  • Design and implement tactical strategic communications plans for various initiatives, publications, and articles.
  • Oversee and evaluate interactions with technical and professional organizations.
  • Support outreach activities aimed at the academic community.
  • Coordinate with relevant DoD agencies for the public dissemination of briefings, documents, and other communication products.

Qualifications

Required Clearance:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • U.S. citizenship

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with at least eight (8) years of experience.
  • Experience within the defense sector (industry, military, government civilian, or contract support), ideally with an engineering organization.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and discretion in performing diverse duties and engaging with various levels of staff across multiple locations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills; proven capability to assess, select, and utilize a variety of methods and tools.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating technical reviews, panels, or similar meetings with diverse participants; adept in preparing, coordinating, and delivering briefings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Exceptional communication skills; experienced in drafting white papers, briefings, correspondence, and reports.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience supporting OSD, Joint Staff, or other high-level organizations.
  • Experience in DoD Science and Technology and Systems Engineering domains.
