Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the Income Support Division with all financial transactions. The Financial Specialist, AO - Advanced will facilitate accurate and timely processing of financial documents, review financial forms for accuracy and completeness, and create, track, and manage purchase requisitions, change orders, invoices, and journal entries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process financial documents using the Statewide Human Resource Accounting and Management Reporting System (SHARE)
  • Review financial forms for accuracy and completeness
  • Create, track, and manage purchase requisitions, change orders, invoices, and journal entries
  • Verify expenditures are eligible under associated funding sources
  • Act as backup to other Financial Specialists
  • Complete monthly and quarterly reconciliations
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency and two (2) years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and/or finance
  • Experience assisting with preparation and review of accounting documents for accuracy and compliance with laws, regulations, and accounting procedures
  • Experience ensuring transactions are within authorized budgets
  • Experience in beginning and finalizing transactions
  • Ability to work with staff, vendors, and other financial liaisons to facilitate solutions to issues
  • Ability to meet deadlines
Working Conditions

This position is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending, and reaching may be required.

Supplemental Information

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and all terms/conditions of that agreement apply and must be adhered to.
