Job Summary

The Chief of Staff is a key position for City Year Tulsa, reporting directly to the Executive Director. This role oversees activities of the executive office, supports site strategy and special initiatives, and leads site equity and culture for staff. The Chief of Staff also leads budget development and financial monitoring, ensuring the site's financial progress and reporting are on track.

Key Responsibilities

Site Strategy and Special Initiatives:
  • Develop and implement City Year Tulsa's site advancement plan (SAP) to ensure departmental, individual, and site-wide goals are met.
  • Monitor and report on City Year Tulsa's operating goals, ensuring the Executive Director is aware of recommended actions and interventions.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director and site leadership to manage strategic plans, ensuring departmental and site-wide progress aligns with staff capacity, financial resources, and stakeholder support.
  • Support Executive Director in critical staff position searches.
  • Partner with Executive Director and Leadership Team to manage key strategic relationships with stakeholders and initiatives.
Equity and Site Culture:
  • Develop and execute site retreats and internal special events to foster connection, appreciation, and inclusivity among staff and corps.
  • Champion City Year Tulsa's efforts to create an inclusive and diverse workplace, supporting Executive Director in developing and implementing site vision.
Budget Development and Financial Monitoring:
  • Monitor site's financial progress and reporting, ensuring all departments forecast a balanced budget.
  • Analyze financial statements and revenue projections, preparing reports for Executive Director and advisory board.
  • Lead annual budget development process in consultation with Executive Director and site leadership.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director, Site Directors, and HQ Finance to identify cost savings and revenue generation opportunities.
Site Leadership Management:
  • Manage agenda and facilitate site leadership meetings in partnership with Executive Director.
  • Develop and facilitate site staff meetings.
  • Lead quarterly review of site and programmatic data with Executive Director and Director of Data Strategy and Analytics.
  • Support Executive Director in site internal communication and strategy.
Benefits

City Year offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $90,000-$105,000, excellent benefits, and a flexible spending account. Full-time employees are eligible for all benefits, including vacation and sick days, and organization holidays. Employment at City Year is at-will, and the organization does not sponsor work authorization visas. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for employment and service.
