Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement information security policies, procedures, and standards that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of university data and systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to university leadership and staff on information security best practices and emerging threats.
  • Lead incident response efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve security incidents.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with security vendors, partners, and industry experts to stay informed about the latest security trends and technologies.
  • Manage the university's information security budget and resources to ensure effective use of funds.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Information Officer to develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy that aligns with the university's strategic objectives.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in information security, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • CISSP, CISM, or CISA certification required.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, including ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in higher education or a similar industry.
  • Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
