Job Summary

Riverside Research is seeking a highly skilled Electromagnetic Scientist to join our team in Dayton, OH. As an Electromagnetic Scientist, you will be responsible for performing independent verification and validation (V&V) of material solutions for electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and directed energy (DE). You will also generate recommendations in the form of technical briefings, reports, and other analytic documents, and provide guidance to less experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform independent V&V of material solutions for EMP and DE
  • Plan, organize, and execute in-lab and field measurements
  • Perform data collection, analysis and management, document and present results
  • Collate and process data collected from testing and customer interactions
  • Design custom test setup visualizations in SolidWorks for fabrication and implementation to meet non-standard customer requirements
Requirements
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI and SAP clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in physics or engineering with 8 years of experience or 6 years with MS or 3 years with PhD.
  • Experience in EW and EP
  • Advanced insight into characterization techniques and materials behavior
  • Expertise in radiation transport and nuclear environments
  • Experience in measuring and modeling RF emissions and propagation
  • Familiar with network analyzer, oscilloscope, RF component and antenna operations
  • Proficient in Python, Matlab, COMSOL and SolidWorks
  • Digital signal processing (DSP) and software defined radio (SDR) experience
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Able to travel up to 25% of the year including weekends and domestic and internationally (valid US Passport or ability to obtain one)

  • Active TS/SCI
  • Experience with RF shielding materials
  • Understanding of basic radiation propagation
  • Experience with ionizing radiation
