Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant to the Dean, College of Professional Studies, provides high-level administrative support to the Dean and the College of Professional Studies. This role requires exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure the smooth operation of the College.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the Dean, including preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Event Planning: Assist with planning and coordinating events, conferences, and meetings for the College.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between the Dean's office, faculty, staff, and students, ensuring effective communication and resolution of issues.
- Financial Management: Assist with budget preparation, financial reporting, and expense tracking for the College.
- Human Resources: Provide support with recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations for the College.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, files, and databases for the College.
- Special Projects: Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Dean.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of administrative experience in a higher education setting.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Certifications: None
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time, exempt position. The successful candidate will be required to work a standard 40-hour workweek, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $57,000 - $62,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Westfield State University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and tuition waivers.
