Job Summary

Crothall Healthcare is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare technology support team, you will be responsible for performing planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and support equipment, ensuring compliance with established standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on medical equipment, including electrical safety inspections and troubleshooting.
  • Manage equipment inventory and schedules service as needed.
  • Develop and maintain PM procedures for equipment, keeping files up-to-date.
  • Ensure test equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
  • Respond to clinical department calls to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints.
  • Research and order repair parts within budget parameters.
  • Maintain purchase order log and validate invoices for payment.
  • Provide informal training to equipment users and Crothall staff as requested.
  • Make recommendations to the Department Manager on service strategies and keep supervisor informed of activities, needs, and problems.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement/Risk Management program by understanding customer issues and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide emergency on-call support as needed.
  • Document significant asset-related actions in compliance with department practices.
  • Participate in department meetings and collaborate with technical personnel to stay updated on technical updates and device-related problems.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment.
  • Valid driver's license for field service positions requiring travel.
  • Ability to work independently with some supervision.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and producing reports on assets.
  • Good trouble-shooting skills.
  • Ability and willingness to serve on-call duty as required.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team member.
