The Hazardous Waste Transporter role at ProMedica is a critical position that requires attention to detail, physical fitness, and a strong understanding of environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Waste Removal and Transportation: Safely remove and transport hazardous and infectious waste across the hospital complex, adhering to state and federal regulations.
- Equipment Operation: Operate various equipment, including compactors, carts, mops, and knives, to ensure efficient waste management.
- Physical Demands: Maintain physical fitness to move around, stand, and walk for extended periods, and lift and move materials and equipment as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Understand and adhere to proper disposal procedures for hazardous materials, ensuring a clean and secure environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the environmental services team to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
