Aircraft Systems Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Systems Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our aircraft maintenance crew, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining aircraft fuel systems, including fuel cells, water injection, and inflight refueling systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical publications to determine the extent and type of preventative and/or repair maintenance required.
  2. Perform organizational and intermediate maintenance on aircraft fuel systems, components, and equipment, including fuel cells, drop tanks, regulators, pumps, relief valves, and fuel accessories.
  3. Perform operational and functional checks of inflight refueling, single point refueling, and fuel transfer systems and related valves, pumps, switches, selectors, and control devices.
  4. Perform leak checks of aircraft fuel systems by visual inspection or by removal of panels and dye tracing fuel leaks.
  5. Determine serviceability of fuel cell sealant and replace it when required.
  6. Examine faulty components and determine feasibility of repair, replacement, and/or need for submitting unsatisfactory reports.
  7. Repair, reassemble, and install fuel system components and perform operational tests using bench and other related test equipment.
  8. Diagnose and overhaul fuel accessories by disassembling, cleaning, and examining parts for corrosion, scratches, cracks, or other damage.
  9. Replace gaskets and worn parts, reassemble accessories, adjust, and test to ensure proper operation in accordance with standards in technical data.
  10. Control entry into fuel cell repair areas.
  11. Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, such as ORI, IG, and DE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises.

Requirements:

  • Experience or training that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications.
  • Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
  • Experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification.
  • Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
