Position Overview:

We are in search of a talented and driven Mechanical Engineer to become a vital member of our innovative team focused on food packaging materials development. The ideal candidate will significantly contribute to the creation and evaluation of new materials, processing techniques, and the deployment of cutting-edge packaging solutions tailored to the food sector's dynamic requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design advanced plastic and fiber processing machinery and systems for food packaging production.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of equipment.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Conduct experimental trials and assessments in a laboratory and manufacturing context to analyze processing equipment performance.
  • Enhance the efficiency of plastic and molded fiber processing and conversion machinery.
  • Offer technical assistance and resolve issues related to manufacturing processes.
  • Engage in the transition of laboratory discoveries to full-scale production.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations for food packaging.
  • Maintain thorough documentation throughout all research and development stages.
  • Occasional travel to manufacturing sites and vendor locations may be required (less than 20% travel).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience in a development laboratory or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, control technologies, and familiarity with plastic and paper converting machinery.
  • Proficient in mechanical CAD and statistical analysis software.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and automation systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
