GENERAL OVERVIEW
Exhibit comprehensive expertise in maintenance and mechanical functions to guarantee optimal operation of all machinery and systems. Conduct general upkeep, preventive maintenance, overhauls, modifications, fabrication, welding, and/or troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical and electrical systems. Operate with a moderate level of supervision, focusing oversight on intricate and/or novel tasks. Serve as an informal guide for less experienced colleagues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute maintenance and/or repairs (scheduled, unscheduled, urgent) on production, processing, and packaging machinery as well as utility-related systems, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Carry out preventive maintenance; conduct routine evaluations of equipment to assess reliability and performance.
- Interpret and analyze technical documentation, electrical diagrams, service manuals, and work orders to fulfill maintenance and service requirements.
- Assist in the installation of new machinery.
- Support operators with training or troubleshooting to reduce equipment downtime.
- Complete work orders promptly while upholding high-quality standards.
- Utilize a range of hand and power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment in executing tasks.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments, management, and staff, informing them of any issues or concerns that may hinder production efficiency.
- Ensure all repairs are documented accurately. Complete all necessary paperwork clearly and legibly, documenting all required information in line with standard operating procedures.
- Stay informed about new products, equipment, technologies, and techniques.
- With a mindset focused on continuous improvement, assist in identifying opportunities to enhance processes.
- Demonstrate the ability to anticipate parts needs for tasks, adhere to proper procurement procedures, and obtain parts in advance of anticipated task execution.
- Uphold safe working conditions for employees and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety matters.
- Adhere to all good manufacturing practices (GMP) and operate in a manner consistent with corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from a trade or technical school is preferred in fields such as electrical, programmable controls (PLC/HMI), mechanical, welding/fabrication, refrigeration, plumbing, etc.
Experience with a variety of equipment including lubrication, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control, and packaging machinery.
Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is preferred.
Certification and/or License may be required during the course of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Familiarity with charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, and wiring diagrams.
Able to inspect equipment, identify potential issues, and take appropriate corrective actions to prevent component failures or equipment downtime.
Proficient in using various maintenance tools, hand and power tools, electrical meters, and material handling equipment safely.
Capable of performing maintenance activities/repairs independently and assisting with more complex repairs.
Able to manage minor to mid-sized projects from planning to installation.
Competent in presenting options and ideas to improve current processes or procedures.
Adaptable and effective in managing change.
Capable of performing tasks and duties without constant supervision.
Effective in working within a team environment.
Able to diagnose issues and take appropriate steps to find solutions.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Basic computer proficiency.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
