Position Overview:

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to pediatric patients. This position is integral to the Holtz Women's and Children's Hospital, focusing on the management of critically ill children.

Department: Pediatric Cardiac ICU

Shift Information: Full-Time, Night Shifts, following a 4/3 schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a broad spectrum of primary, acute, and specialized healthcare services autonomously and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Manage patient care, including prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and diagnosing various conditions.
  • Perform physical examinations and develop treatment plans based on clinical findings.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient interactions.
  • Lead and mentor nursing staff in best practices and clinical standards.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting.
  • Master's degree in Nursing is mandatory.
  • Valid Florida Advanced Practice RN license and board certification in the relevant specialty are required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and any additional life support certifications must be maintained.
