Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Recreation Program Coordinator to join our team. This is a part-time position that requires a minimum of 15 hours per week, with some weekend work required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise recreation assistants and coordinate daily operations at sports complexes or community centers;
  • Complete paperwork and cash reports in a timely manner;
  • Facilitate and oversee recreational programming, including planning, scheduling, and supervising activities and events;
  • Perform clerical duties as needed, including data entry, filing, and answering phones;
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program participation, revenues, and expenses;
  • Develop and implement new programs and services to meet the needs of the community;
  • Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to promote recreation and leisure activities;
  • Provide excellent customer service to participants, visitors, and community members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred;
  • At least one year of experience in recreation or a related field, preferably in a supervisory role;
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry software;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations;
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods, with frequent bending and stretching;
  • Flexibility to work variable schedules, including weekends and holidays.
