Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Leisure Programs Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for scheduling, organizing, and implementing recreational programs at sports complexes or community centers.

Main Responsibilities:
• Supervise part-time recreation assistants
• Complete day-to-day paperwork and cash reports
• Facilitate or oversee recreational programming
• Complete opening and closing procedures of facilities
• Perform clerical duties as required

Community Recreation:
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of recreation programming, cash handling experience, and classroom instruction. Key responsibilities include:
• Plan, schedule, supervise, and facilitate recreational activities and programs
• Assist the public in registering for classes and reserving facilities by explaining policies and procedures, and completing necessary forms
• Develop partnerships, solicit donations, and recruit new instructors
• Coordinate activities and special events for all ages

Athletics and Aquatics:
In this role, you will also be responsible for planning, scheduling, organizing, and facilitating various classes, special events, leagues, and tournaments. Additional responsibilities include:
• Assist at outdoor recreation facilities like Safety City, Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center, and adult recreation league locations
• Complete program evaluations and reports
• Assist with concessions and special events

Requirements:
• Completion of a high school diploma or any combination of education and experience that provides the following: Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work some weekends, minimum 15 hours per week required

Benefits:
Part-time employees who have at least six (6) months continuous employment may be paid for all holidays except the Veterans Day floating holiday. Part-time employees are not eligible for the Veteran's Day floating holiday because City offices are not closed on that day. The number of hours granted these employees as holiday pay is based on the average number of hours normally worked in a day.
