Key Responsibilities

Instruction and Curriculum Design
  • Conduct interactive and impactful lectures, practical training sessions, and hands-on activities covering essential topics such as medical office operations, terminology, billing processes, and relevant software applications.
  • Revise and enhance the curriculum to maintain alignment with contemporary industry practices and standards.
  • Develop and execute lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that promote effective learning and skill acquisition.
Student Evaluation and Guidance
  • Assess student performance through various methods including tests, projects, and practical exercises.
  • Provide insightful feedback to facilitate students' academic and professional development.

  • Build and sustain partnerships with healthcare industry stakeholders and employers.
  • Coordinate with externship sites to provide students with practical, real-world experiences.
  • Advocate for the program and its advantages to potential students and community stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS).
  • A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in medical billing and coding.
  • Prior teaching or training experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and healthcare reimbursement processes.
