Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our team at CERiS. As a Medical Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and coding medical bills to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and code medical bills to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry guidelines
  • Apply NCCI edits and CPT guidelines to ensure correct coding
  • Determine validity and compensability of claims using CorVel proprietary programs
  • Communicate claim status and make recommendations to referring offices
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in medical coding guidelines and regulations
Requirements
  • Current Certified Professional Coding (CPC) certification through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)
  • 2 years of medical coding experience preferred
  • Experience with EncoderPro software a plus
