LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Advanced Acute Care Admissions Unit

Geisinger Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in the Advanced Acute Care Admissions Unit. As an LPN, you will contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, promoting adaptive responses and maximizing patient satisfaction. This is a unique opportunity to work in a small 7-bed unit with a lower nurse-to-patient ratio, ideal for those interested in admission assessments and quick patient turnarounds.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to patient assessments, addressing physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Reinforce patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning throughout hospitalization.
- Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies, according to policy and procedure.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and plan of care based on patient response to interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members to resolve and facilitate patient needs.
- Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence-based practice.
- Provide input to the manager for performance appraisals of care delivery team members.
- Precept and mentor new staff and students in a professional, positive manner as assigned.
Requirements:
- Graduate from a Specialty Training Program-Nursing.
- Basic Life Support Certification and Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
